The Gujarat education minister Praful Pansheriya said that the lessons of ‘Shrimad Bhagavad Gita’ to the students of Classes 6 to 8 from the upcoming academic session. The announcement was made on the occasion of Gita Jayanti.
“An important decision has been taken in the educational field to include the spiritual principles and values contained in ‘Shrimad Bhagavad Gita’ in all government schools in Gujarat as a supplementary textbook in the curriculum of class 6 to 8,” the state education minister said.
On the occasion of Gita Jayanti, the minister visited a government primary school at Gandhinagar and urged students to learn “Shrimad Bhagavad Gita” and adopt the teachings and moral values in life.
